Get down and dirty in New Farm’s Community Garden
This June the New Farm Neighbourhood Centre will present a series of six innovative and inspirational workshops designed to give participants practical skills in sustainable gardening. Topics include seedlings and propagation, sprouting at home, composting and worm farming, self-watering planter boxes, all about soil and growing fruit and veg in small spaces.
In 2010 a disused driveway at the Neighbourhood Centre was transformed into an accessible, edible, organic community garden. These workshops aim to encourage a new wave of participants to contribute to the garden and to give everyone the knowledge and confidence to start their own sustainable gardening projects at home.
Workshops are $5 each. See the full timetable and book your sessions here. Don’t forget to invite your family and friends to get their hands dirty at these wonderful winter afternoon sessions in the garden.
