Assist Secure
The Home Assist Secure program provides free information, referral and subsidised assistance to eligible clients. Home Assist Secure aims to remove some of the practical housing related difficulties experienced by older people and people with a disability who wish to remain living in their home which is either owned or rented. This program is funded by the Department of Housing and the Department of Health through the Home and Community Care (HACC) Program. Home Assist Secure does not undertake maintenance or repairs that are considered to be the responsibility of the landlord (lessor) under residential tenancies legislation. What
does Home Assist Secure provide? Home Security - Staff trained by the Queensland Police Service can inspect your home to help you decide on security - related repairs and installations. They can also help you with personal security. This is an independent and unbiased service. Subsidised Assistance - Assists people who are unable to obtain alternative assistance with minor home maintenance, repairs, and minor modifications and security, which relate to their personal health, safety and personal security.
