Media Release 7 January 2015

On Saturday 20th December 2014 Communify Qld, in partnership with Merlo Paddington held a Christmas food appeal. The event supported Communify’s Pantry – its food relief program, which provides practical assistance to support people who are struggling financially. The program provides eligible community members with free fresh fruit, vegetables and bread.

The Pantry would not be successful without the work of a team of volunteers and the donations of many local people, churches and businesses including Fruity Capers at Toowong Village and Brumby’s at Red Hill.

Communify greatly appreciates the generosity and assistance of Merlo Paddington for allowing their venue to be used for the event. Big thanks must also go to Dan Munn for providing his musical talent that created a great atmosphere for the morning and to Alexander Watson for capturing the event with his photographic skills. Lastly, thank you to all of those who attended and donated much needed food items to the Pantry program – we greatly appreciate your generosity!
